I Am a Woman

I Am a Woman

A Poem by Leindor
"

The title is enough.

"

I am a woman

a new woman

a young woman

I enjoy picking flowers

taking long moonlit walks on the beach

and the occasional fart joke..

But I AM a woman

a growing woman

a learning woman

I read romance novels

study child care...

and how to shoot a gun

And yet

Because I am not a sex stereotype

He says I am not a woman

a gentle woman

a kind woman

But what would he know about becoming a woman

about being a woman

thinking LIKE a woman

It's so much more than pansies

and lilies

and roses

and posies

VIOLETS!

I AM a woman

I am the carrier

and the bringer

of a new generation

I am the soothing back rub

after a long, hard day

I am a provider

I am a taker

I am a Lover

I am soldier

I am a person

...And I am a woman

a strong woman

a soft woman

Mature enough to be around

to educate those around me

But not be bigger than myself

I am a woman

Look at me you men

and learn from me you women

Be your own woman

I am my own woman

And I stand before you proud

Because I am a woman

damn, this is triumphant! every girl should read this, to show that having duality, being soft and being strong gives women a greater insight that we could all learn from. I'm surprised I'm the only one commenting on this so far, all on WC need to read this.
