The Flower with a Bug in it

The Flower with a Bug in it

A Poem by Laurent Hardesty

Let me Pick a Flower.
And It'll Be a Flower
With a Small Bug in It.

I Understand We All Like Flowers,
But Let Me Ask You,
What is Wrong with the Bug?

I See the Sympathy,
Between the Bug and Flower.
We All Like Flowers,
But No-one Likes Bugs.

Nothing is Wrong,
With it's Simple Skeleton.
But We Are Disgusted,
With it's Minute Existence.

So I Pick a Flower,
With a Bug in It,
And I Understand You Like Flowers,
But Again,
What is Wrong with the Bug Inside?

Each living creature has a purpose. The bug has as much entitlement to the joy of the flower as we do. Love all living things on earth's rich crust, for all too soon we turn to dust.
