Dear Safiya,

Sorry it took me a while to reply to your letter.  I moved in with Agnes a couple of days ago.  And yesterday, I started school.

School was so much fun.  I was used to the one room schoolhouse in the village, but the high school is in the next town over.  It’s in Rochester.  And guess what else?  Duncan is my History teacher.

I think my life is going to be normal now.  I know what your probably wondering, and no, I didn’t “uncover” the Old Magic.  It’ll come out when it’s ready and really, I don’t want all the power that it would give me.  It just doesn’t seem important.

I just have one very important question.  How do you know all of this about Julia and Thomas and Frederick?  It’s almost as if you were there.
