Is this the end of days?

The end of the world is nigh!
Hear a great gnashing of teeth.
Prepare to meet thy doom mankind,
As Gaia shrugs her shoulders beneath!

Our world spinning out of whack?
Or just man's inability to control,
Gaia's determined effort to be rid
of man trying to kill her soul?

Winds will blow, volcanoes erupt,
The seas will rise and cover.
The earth will shake, fragile we break,
Having cleansed Gaia will recover!

Tis time! Beware!
The end of the world is Nigh!

A little bit frightening to read on only ONE cup of coffee! (giggles) I love the way this piece just rolls off the tongue. (yes, I read them all aloud - this one louder than usual as I wanted to experience the emotion)

As I read this I could see one of those ernest gentlemen standing on a street corner draped in a wooden sandwich board and yelling to the passing people 'the end is nigh'! A light take on a serious subject. Loved it
