A gesture of decency

A gesture of decency

A Poem by Hel

Lying down in separate beds
In the same house I realise that our
Bodies can do as they please.
It no longer matters.
You exist inside me
More permanently now.
Very little can ever change that.
The gesture lasted three hours
Before a phone call, before an excuse to lie together,
And sleep, only sleep.
