Numb

Numb

A Poem by Alicia Nicole

You hear her name
Your eyes squeeze shut
As your heart screams
You dig your nails deeper into your palms
The pain doesn't come
But the memories do
Your blinded with pain
All you see is her face
All you hear is her voice
All you feel is her lips
All you smell is her sweet skin
Every sense is overwhelmed by such strong remembrance
A silent tears slips away
Burning a steady stream down your face
It lands it a puddle of your growing fears
