Freedom Fall

Freedom Fall

A Poem by Jen Ro

The wind is gentle, wise, and tall
As amber bleeds into the sky.
Leaves let go with quiet grace,
Each one a prayer, each one a face.

I walk through trees that once were green,
Now fire-kissed, bold, and serene.
They shed with ease, no need to cling
Why did I hold to everything?

My mind, a cage of rusted bars,
Built of fears and phantom scars.
I lived inside that narrow space,
Afraid to fall, afraid to face.

But autumn whispers, "Change is kind."
You will not break  you will unwind.
Like leaves that leap without regret,
Your past can fall, the sun can set.

Each thought unlatched, I start to breathe,
A soul unfastened, I can leave.
Not run  but rise, and calmly see:
The gate was always held by me.

Now watch me turn like turning trees,
Unveiling truth in crisp release.
I am not lost. I am becoming,
A silence soothed, a wildness humming.

Let all that held me fade and flee
This is the fall that sets me free.
