Conquest

Conquest

A Poem by Holly O'Brien
"

Life and love makes me think alot

"

Playing

She smiles at me and I wonder

Where her heart rests at this time

If only I could read minds

These words are a hesitation

An instant grasp of

The distance between us

Heads turning

Eyes wandering

We lost each other

And there is no turning back

To the time that is gone

Looking elsewhere

Is this what we really want?

You don’t know me

I would cry tonight

For something that happened ten years ago

Life is a stream of ever flowing water

So clear until you hit the bottom

Rock bottom

It’s just hard

It is true that life is clear until you hit the bottom of the flowing water. Your poem to me represents that part of love that isn't fun anymore. It is the reality crashing into the wonderful fantasy that was once lived.
