I Can't Help but Wonder. (The thought of it)

I Can't Help but Wonder. (The thought of it)

A Poem by Sarah Flanigan

I can't help but wonder if
he's looking at the same stars tonight.
That thought makes my heart grow heavier.

I can't help but wonder if
he slipped back into a particularly bad, old habit.
The thought of it makes my stomach hitch.

I can't help but wonder if
he still has that ivory colored guitar he was playing
when we first met.
That memory makes me feel inexplicably homesick.

I can't help but wonder if
he's stargazing in his back yard thinking of me too.
The thought makes my stupid heart miss him.

You described missing a loved one brilliantly! You ask the question twice, though, which seems a bit superfluous....(about whether he is stargazing too.....)

Nice. I always think about being in other peoples' shoes when they are away. You showed that pretty clearly.
