You aren't here.

You aren't here.

A Poem by Sarah Flanigan
"

In loving memory of my grandmother.

"
The sun rose this morning.
Birds sang,
Children went to school,
But you weren't here.

I drank my morning coffee.
I fed the dog.
I watered the plants.
But you weren't here.

The wind rustled through the trees
as I sat on my front porch,
playing my ukulele with the dog at my feet.
But you weren't here.

There is a silence that can't be filled when a loved one passes. This is nicely expressed. I like it and the emptiness it portrays.

Very simple yet conveying the message quite effectively. Amazing.

:( aw this is simple and sad but well written. I hope they realize what they missed out on before it's too late.

About
I'm an introverted bookworm. I tend to spend my days drinking far too much coffee and playing my ukulele too loudly. Life is strange and surreal, but also beautiful somehow. more..
