While My Pencil Gently Weeps.

While My Pencil Gently Weeps.

A Poem by Relic

Writer's Block

I'm a writer in a room with nothing to write
as my muse slumbers soft in cryogenic flight.
My vast acute insight has suddenly transformed
into slivers of flat lines pitifully malformed.

Were a vineyard my words - I'd be sipping on wine
from a glass always filled with a sweet tasting line.
But the vines have dried up, and all turned to grey.
So until my muse wakes - I have nothing to say.

“writing about a writer's block is better than not writing at all”

My writer's block has been a constant road block. I tried making an even syllable count in each line but it didn't work out. Whatever. :)

I think this is awesome. I've had my share of nights talking to paper with little to say. Rambling takes on an art of its own though useless really haha. It's still healing in its own way. I'd suggest you hold onto the ones that seem empty. Sometimes looking back they speak louder than yourealized

Writer's block is something most artists can relate to. You managed to transform your writers block into a piece of art, not an easy thing to do. The best cure is to write through it, put random words on paper until it starts to make sense. Good job! Love the typewriter picture.

Thank you. :)
I've been writing, on and off for 35 years. The off times mostly being down to nothing entering my head. I'd just write random words. I do like this. I think I'll take al eaf out of your book next time I'm blocked.

Your muse is right there my friend this poem says it all

I would say you found your muse in this one. And the juices are starting to overflow and come alive again. As this was poetry in motion. 😊

I appreciate your thoughts, Dee, thanks.
You are right. Writing about anything ... even about writer's block , is better than writing nothing. From Your pen only perfection flows ... this is a lovely poem. Iam sure soon the vines will turn green and produce luscious fruit once more.

Thank you, Donna.
I have had my share of writing blocks, and of both successful and unsuccessful attempts of trying to shake one off.... :( sounds like you were successful here.....
(Ps I feel rhyming poems are the best way of writing your way out of a writer's block-- just an observation...)

Also, i like the golden typewriter in the pic..its beauty seems to mock every writer facing a writer's block......
(Ha..that rhymes. )
