While My Pencil Gently Weeps.

While My Pencil Gently Weeps.

A Poem by Relic

Writer's Block

I'm a writer in a room with nothing to write
as my muse slumbers soft in cryogenic flight.
My vast acute insight has suddenly transformed
into slivers of flat lines pitifully malformed.

Were a vineyard my words - I'd be sipping on wine
from a glass always filled with a sweet tasting line.
But the vines have dried up, and all turned to grey.
So until my muse wakes - I have nothing to say.

“writing about a writer's block is better than not writing at all”

Author's Note

Relic
My writer's block has been a constant road block. I tried making an even syllable count in each line but it didn't work out. Whatever. :)

I think this is awesome. I've had my share of nights talking to paper with little to say. Rambling takes on an art of its own though useless really haha. It's still healing in its own way. I'd suggest you hold onto the ones that seem empty. Sometimes looking back they speak louder than yourealized

Relic, your poem spoke more poetically, than most poets will, in their lifetime, this coming, from someone, who writes prolifically. Would gladly trade ya, so my poetic soul can know true rest, from depression.

"bottle of wine fruit of the vine when ya gonna let me 'start writing' again"
you keep leaving my pen alone and i wish you wouldn't.

i know this feeling Tim...i have been posting old writes myself...

that actually helps...broke through last night and finally have a few new ones....started with writing about the writing block.
seems to work...

i really like this piece.

Came up with it just before posting. I never give titles much thought, although I know I should.
I really love this, this was simply stunning
very deep.

I love how ones speak of their Muses it is
very deep and romantic when we speak of
our deepest muses :)

Spoken like a true poet Lovely!

I hope you find your ink and
and the deep thoughts of your poetic muse.

Thank you for sharing.

God bless. Benita
