The Moon Shone Through Her Window

The Moon Shone Through Her Window

A Poem by Relic

73 of 365

She nestled her head like some moonlight sliver
on my shoulder.

As I plagiarized the warmth of the fading sun,
I pulled her against me;
my lust rising like mercury.

Maneuvering magical motions in shadows,
the full moon traced its light on the floor
as we rolled on wool woven horses,
and the night slipped away without our noticing.

Well penned!
Eloquent wording, paints a vivid picture that could be perceived as
a time flying by because of the fun between the two involved:)
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!

Neither can I, haha
This is so sensual and romantic. I knew woven horses was a reference to blankets, perhaps rode instead of rolled? At any rate, the length was perfect to describe this interlude. Well done, Relic!

Relic, this is quite beautiful. I love your careful choice of words. "It was then,I plagiarized the sun's warmth. pushing against her body, measuring her like mercury". Gorgeous!

I'm glad you liked it Lynn, thank you. :)
Moonlight is so romantic and how it will shimmer more so than sliver and as you press and maneuver I would think there would be some quivering nice job

your very welcome
I have just read three of your poems, and all I can say is that each one is in my top ten writerscafe poems list. You have such a unique, creative and utterly artistic style that I can only wish I had! The first five lines of this are just magical and ethereal in my opinion, and are amongst the best examples of awesome poetry I have ever seen. You also have quite a admirable understanding of literary devices, which serves to make this even more incredible. It may just sound like I'm singing the same song lyrics in every review I write, but that is because I quite honestly can't think of anything else to say! :)

That is, without a doubt, the goal of most, if not all writers :)
Relic,
This is a linguistic treasure. R-rated with the illusion of 'measuring her mercury'. Brilliantly composed. Your average 11 year old would have no idea what this eludes to. That is how you earned my eternal admiration. Sexy, yet very delicately written. My new favorite. Thank you, my friend. It is always a pleasure to read your mind's creations. :)

...your "slivers of moonlight" read so eloquently. And I really loved your closing line...
