Beneath an ominous sky, rage. (rhyme poem)

A Poem by Relic

Version 1

Its throat roared
a riotous rumble
Passing above the ruined rubble.

The funnel hung
swiveled and swung
Licking its chops with a tawdry tongue.

Rolling, rumbling
ferocious and foul,
It started with wind - then a hungry howl.

Version 2

Its throat wailed a riotous roar
as roofs transformed to rubble.

The funnel hung~
swiveled, swung~
Licking its chops with a gorging tongue.

Rolling~rumbling~
ferocious, foul,
I still recall its ominous howl.

Wow. Look who doesn't have writers block anymore! The personification is very powerful and made a great read. Thanks for sharing.

some storms devour all in its paths...there is a haunting quality to that last stanza that leaves one unnerved...nice work

I like that you have turned the storm into some nameless hungry beast. It gives it a personality. I like even more that what the beast ate remains unsaid. It leaves a lot open to interpretation.

Nice work on this, Relic. I look forward to reading more of your work.
