Taming the clouds of lonesomeness
A Poem by
Relic
When I'd found
the warmth of your waist replaced
by sunrise ribbons
on the bed,
I felt no more alive
than cut grass
pushed aside
by daisies.
My color
had drained.
Rains of worry
fell untamed.
But for you,
I'd rope the moon
or lasso long sunsets.
I'd break the clouds of loneliness
to saddle
joyful bliss,
Content to know
I'd tied the reins
of love around your heart.
Willing to ride
the extra mile it takes
to get you home.

really like this, Relic...
reminds me of George in A Wonderful Life..."do you want the moon, Mary, I'll lasso the moon"
but we know that trying to tie someone down rarely works....we have to have that person stay on his or her own...free to leave or come back, like the butterfly...
love the layout of this....really good piece.

'Taming the clouds of lonesomeness'
Relic,
first of all the above picture says so much. I see the inspiration in the sunset's crimson longing and the moon calling the hope of love. It's very cool to see the old fashioned look of a cowboy actually lassoing the moon. You used some fun word play...first line 'the warmth of your waist replaced by sunrise ribbons' and line three, 'my color had drained rains of worry fell untamed' I find it fun and interesting to read people's very early stuff just to see how a start was made in writing.
This was lovely!
Blessings,
Kathy

I appreciate your review, Kathy. Thank you.
This is just so, lovingly rendered. So simple, so touching. That said, your vocabulary is impressively displayed, and page presentation is very inviting to the reader. Well penned, my friend.

Thank you for saying that, my friend. :)
yes to have that someone special is precious while loneliness tears one apart.
