I still visit the profiles of old friends here, some that I know seldom if ever, revisit the site. Others are departed from life itself. I revisit their comments on my posts on other sites as well. I'll find one and say, well, wasn't that nice? This is eloquently poignant. I enjoyed and I relate. F.

As do I. They are like monoliths on a partways barren land.
All things come to an end. In this case a very poetic end. Very good work. You have some good images here - I thought 'Verbs sway on rusted hinges' was excellent but many others. I must say that i find this WC a very strange place - we communicate with ciphers that we know not who or where?
Well done
Alan (that's not my hair!)
I love this, I know of one site I used to be on years ago, and went back and have left because the people running the site made it less fun to post.. but I do think there are more out there that has died but still linger there waiting to see people again.. Nice write..
That is exactly how I feel, after not writing for almost a year, I come back to find none of my old friends here :(
My old poems sitting alone, invisible..
it saddened me
Thank you for this poem
The very first poem I read on WC was yours, but at the time your account was closed. I am glad you .. read moreThe very first poem I read on WC was yours, but at the time your account was closed. I am glad you reopened it ... welcome back.
Time the writer's friend and rival. Not to mention a canvas that we can share. Let us not forget the hall of communion that we here in the cafe have need of.
Sounds like many accounts I've walked away from. These past 20 years have played hard on poetry sites. While the cat's away the mice chew up the pages and empty the hard drives... Really enjoyed this piece
dear Relic... your poem is hauntingly beautiful.
Yes, sometimes we are caught in webs of abandonment... but when Spring arrives as it will, perhaps that old notion will awaken as though we were only hibernating ... and life will take on new meaning with birdsong and flowers in bloom. truly, Pat
Hello Relic, I'm afraid I have also abandoned work on other sites! This brings it all home in a revealing and ghostly way. Thank you for reminding us never to abandon our work to the unopened years.
I've been an amateur scribbler since 2009. You can also find me on Stars Rite under my real name Tim. Many of those poems are from this account. more..
