I still visit the profiles of old friends here, some that I know seldom if ever, revisit the site. Others are departed from life itself. I revisit their comments on my posts on other sites as well. I'll find one and say, well, wasn't that nice? This is eloquently poignant. I enjoyed and I relate. F.

As do I. They are like monoliths on a partways barren land.
I never could have imagined how powerful your words might be. You use them so selectively and descriptively that I am simply in awe. I have no words (a lovely contradiction).
"Abandoned" that's a very heavy word. I don't know which is harder: Saying it aloud or keeping it in.
Allowing it to weigh on one's mind.
It just feels like such a loss of love itself. Love being the muse; abandoning the writer, which in turns abandons her love.
Leaving everything unfinished; unwritten.
At a loss for words.
I love this write. It's lovely even if it leaves me feeling. sad.
Thank a-lot Relic haha

You have a way with wording how it feels to abandon an account ~ I'm ashamed to say I've done that. But the imagery here is so solid, and almost haunting in a way. The desolate emptiness of an account that will never answer again. Thanks for the beautiful read ^^
Watching old friends disappear is a sad thing.
I think I must be that rusty old hinge, straining to get up and cross the room, like an old tumbleweed.
I need to update my profile, write a bit more, read a bit more, and basically get up off my rear and do something. But then I wouldn't have time for Jeopardy.
The answer is...What is procrastination.
Wow... I am at a loss for words, since this is exactly how i feel about WC nowadays, with so many old friends gone...and i am sure some others might feel the same about my profile too, since i am so inactive now...
As for the poem, it's a pure gem! The 2nd stanza is perfect... I love the usage of the word "tumbleweeds"...
I need to add this excellent poem to my library!
How can you make such perfect poem about abandon on writers cafe? So thoughtful, it really impressed me ;-)
Super GREAT write!
I hope all is well with you :-)
See you soon
Sil
I don't think there is more deeply touchingly poetical words to express the abandoned writers than Yours here, it's like You've bonded with the abandoned page becoming one with her, and give the voice to her silent space, a really sad tune flow with Your words, like You are achingly missing somebody, wonderful writing, Thank You for Your sense, care and thoughtfulness

Thank you for reading, Light. There are many I miss from this site.
haunting.
get a little twist of a shiv in the gut reading it. You capture the feeling of vacancy quite well in the drifting structure, the distant, apathetic tone housing a tender sensitive longing for things to be the way they used to be. So much heartbreak in those last 4 lines. Ugh. Excellent stuff.
I also have been absent on this site for ages, so it particularly resonates.
I've been an amateur scribbler since 2009. You can also find me on Stars Rite under my real name Tim. Many of those poems are from this account. more..
