Abandoned Writers Cafe

A Poem by Relic

Empty rooms in empty halls.

Accounts silent - long abandoned
the words bankrupt
vacant fronts of creativity
washed over; hollow; run down.

Verbs sway on rusted hinges
the strains of old poems
cross pages like tumbleweeds.

Profiles shuttered - desolate
unopened for years, collect dust
while messages to forgotten friends
go unanswered

I still visit the profiles of old friends here, some that I know seldom if ever, revisit the site. Others are departed from life itself. I revisit their comments on my posts on other sites as well. I'll find one and say, well, wasn't that nice? This is eloquently poignant. I enjoyed and I relate. F.

As do I. They are like monoliths on a partways barren land.

Your poem captures the feeling I have coming back from a long absence. The ones I interacted with are gone, for one reason or another. Well done!

Sounds good. I'll think about it when I have the time.
off and on I too go missing. It feels like no one is here anymore. I try and write every day but the hectic ways of every day gets to me. This is quite intriguing. Enjoyed reading this

Thank you very much for your review.
Relic my friend how goes life long
time no talk and hope you're well I've
missed friends but I've been busy
with family.

This is so very
true they either close their account
or become very busy in life and it's
way too overwhelming to juggle
the account and life as well and
I've been there because there's
times I don't come on here for
ages.

Nice ink bravo 👏👏

Thank you very much, Benita. It's good to see you on.
Beautiful the impact lies in the fact you wrote about a writing site
