i hope that day for me comes soon. the rock and roll lifestyle was a short fitful phase in my life, i dont regret it, but im glad it is over. now the soil, the trees and the sky are all i need. and i also take a lot confort in talking strangers. it's often easier than talking to people who know what i've been through.

Thanks for the comment, Ern. I'm also away from the rock n roll lifestyle.
poignant! well done ... straight up real .. final .. love the leaves and soil familiarity .. tons of fine stuff in this one Relic .. glad i did not miss it! this is the second in a row poem on death i have read ... now i will be doubly sure to appreciate the breaths i take today ... very emotive, fine tribute, sound wisdom on fame and fortune, surgical...each word and line necessary and builds one on the other ... thanks for sharing!

Fame... in such a creative illustration. It seems fame continues for some, too... in the fond memories and love of those left behind. Such a moving personal image that brings an even more intense mood and emotion to your words. Remarkable write, Relic.
Oh my goodness... excellent !!.. This shell is nothing, so make the best out of life, in the end we all become dust, and the soul rises, to that great beyond ..... BRAVO !!
Whatever we achieve in our lifetime won't make any difference to where we end up. We are all going to die. The rich and the famous will die just the same as the poor and ordinary. Great graveyard imagery here Tim. Like the reference to being filed away. Good poem.
I've been an amateur scribbler since 2009. You can also find me on Stars Rite under my real name Tim. Many of those poems are from this account. more..
