Au revoir, sweet ladybugs
And warblers flying south.
Greetings to the Harvest pie
That's melting in my mouth.

We've stowed away the fishing rods,
The bathing suits; the kites.
Now's the time to bid adieu
To flies intrigued by lights.

Snow is on its lofty way
To overlay the leaves.
And sit amidst the bulky ice
That freezes on the eaves.

Falling from the arctic air -
Each snowflake soon will cling.
Lounging like a group of stars
"Til winter turns to spring.

oh i like this one .. well done in the rhythm and rhyme department .. and the ride into winter with closing in hopes of spring ... delightful .. uplifting poem for me ... takes a bit of the dread of winter away .. tho it is yet to come ;]

Nicely rhymed. Don't worry; at the rate we're going, it will be summer all year long, even at the poles.
