Two separate trains

Two separate trains

A Poem by Relic

Long days at work often lead to daydreaming ~ do they not?

From two separate motionless trains
their eyes met.

From two separate departing trains
their eyes embraced.

On two separate moving trains
they dreamed of a stranger
in their arms.

Instant attraction, but how sad. Never to meet. So much feeling in this short poem of couplets. Strong imagery and filled with the longing of romance. Nicely done Tim.

THanks, Chris.
poignant and wondrous ... put me self in the train with ease .. waiting to disembark .. catching that magical connected glance .. as she pulls out in another direction .. well done! so enjoyed the scene you set up ... really admire the precise use of the language ... couplets work perfectly ... simple .. direct .. so relateable ... glances across work stations and the trains pull out ... from across grocery isles and again .. the trains pull out ... makes me think of desperate love as the hero jumps off and gives chase .. only to just miss boarding ;) nice one ... puts me in a daydream :)
