The Narrow Way

The Narrow Way

A Poem by Relic

The dirt street was long,
with trees on either side;
the clouds grey.

I met a dog along the way,
both of us wanderers
acknowledging the other;
him looking for food,
me looking for who I am,
waiting for the answer
to materealize from the air
and yet knowing,
a walk through life is more
than just
"waiting for something or
someone to show you the way."

It's walking down the wrong roads,
it's tripping, it's the struggles,
but being able to see the flowers
along the way while searching.

In short, it's experience.

I'm sure the dog knew that to,
but he was as quiet as God.

Funny though,

I noticed his tail was wagging.

Liked very much the philosophy espoused here. Sometimes it is necessary to strike out on the dimly lit path. If the outcome is disappointing, consider what you learned from it. Sometimes defeat is a better teacher than victory.

Yes, it is John. Thank you for your comment. :)

the dog understood that too with his wagging tail. It’s little things that can make a journey seem pleasant even if we take the wrong path.

That’s life for you. A journey with a start and a finish and many roads in between.

Hellos, Relic, how's arr yrr,
hpe you are having a great evening,,
It is hard to find meaning in life,
It is a tranquil poem, it takes me to the road,
I always like to find myself in roads, so I really enjoyed the poem,
God is quiet, I like that,

your welcome, Dearest Relic,
That's why dogs have such short lives...they already know what takes us a lifetime to understand. That long road (hopefully) is filled with opportunities. Even as seasons change, a flower is blooming somewhere. :)

Thanks very much, Cowboy. :)
Spectacular. This small but epic journey is where we all are.
Life is an un traveled we discover as we go.

Your poem demanded I take part. And I wrote one of my own.

Great! Glad to hear that. :)
Ah, the wagging tail. I sometimes much like a dog signify a sort of wagging its tail when encountering people that I have not been quite introduced to yet; reminds me of ships in the night passing each other. Could they be milestones along our way. But that is just one more random thought.
