Holy Water

Holy Water

A Poem by Relic

Do other poets
worship rainy days?

Do they also stand at windows
as though in church pews
peering out
towards glossy streets,
at dripping leaves
trying to gleam any kind of wisdom
under gray filtered skies?

As though its sermons
were meant to teach us?

I'm not exactly sure what rain preaches. Could be gloom. Could be cleansing. If it's on your front porch, could be Jehovah's Witnesses.

I appreciate your comment, Cowboy. Thank you.
Relic,
Now THAT's a poem. give 'em a good image, give 'em something to think about, make it sharp as a knife, use your own voice... and there you are! GREAT job!
