I really like how much this speaks to me Relic. Maybe it is proof that when we are worderating (TM and patent pending), we all continue with the thought that created those words in s never ending edit until another thought or subject takes over.
That very idea is why I no longer edit unless someone points some error out. (I feel I can get away with it more if I use madey-uppy word ablest, as I am known to do, leaving people on a state of confuseication and really, who has the time to check every word of another writers write. It's so much easier to nod, say well done and move on.
So after careful deliberation, I nod to you, say well done and off I toddle! 😃
One never know what echoes our words will leave but this stanza had me smiling and fully immersed in your words.
My words are the fallout
of a night’s carefree episode
on the thin ice of a laptop.
The meeting of a spirit with
fingers; a beyond from a before;
a flame from a spark;
a horizon from darkness.
Wonderful write, Relic:)

Thanks very much for your thoughts on this, Pryde. :)
i often think about how futile writing really is. no one reads any more. and those who do often find a way to misinterpret it. but lately i've been thinking, as long as i find fulfilment in it, even a little, what's wrong with that? and considering how beautifully this work was written -- "a flame from a spark; / a horizon from darkness..." -- maybe you think so too? anyway, i'll go and read one of your stories next, and i look forward to it.

The truth is unless you're John Donne or somebody like that, your words will probably be forgotten. Really, who remembers who won the Nobel Prize for poetry in 1947? It's the satisfaction of creating something you feel is worthwhile that matters.
I've been an amateur scribbler since 2009. You can also find me on Stars Rite under my real name Tim. Many of those poems are from this account. more..
