Moon in the morning sky

Moon in the morning sky

A Poem by Relic

I saw the moon last night,
his face full, festive and glowing
in the nightlife.
-
This morning
he looked weary,
pale, and hungover.
-
Overall, he looked
ready to be
taken home.
-
When I stepped outside this
afternoon,
he'd wandered off,
probably to bed.
-
He's probably dreaming of wolves,
howling in the night.

Don't you just love the night sky at this time of year, when the cooler temps almost clear the sky in a pre spring awakening from slumber?
Have been looking out tonight for a glimpse of some of the seven planets that will be in view for a while, but unless they somehow update the sky with flashing arrows, I reckon most people will just mistake them for stars and be disappointed by it. (Come on Google, make the planets in sight blink or something to make them stand out!)
I'd ask Alexa for help but am still under the restraining order not to talk to her since she took the hump at being asked what she was wearing all the time! 😃
I used to sat to people that I didn't believe in the power of the moon, then leave a beat and say "but it would explain why I go out killing!" just to see if they are listening! 😃
Think I'll nip out for a quick howl. Now wears my werewolf mask?
😃

Love this nocturnal write, dear R... Love the imagery which depicts the moon behaving in a disorderly fashion thanks to being intoxicated. The wolf howled at the moon last night trying to get The Man in The Moon to see reason, to go behind a cloud and sober up, but logic didn't appeal to him so this morning it is little surprise that he looked weary and worn out! Hopefully, tonight will see him restored to his old self again, dear R... You could extend this poem into a very beautiful children's story, dear friend. I feel it has great potential, dear R...

Most welcome, R... :)
Clever, clever concept. If I got it right. A hungover moon. Why didn't I think of that. Super, super poem. A delight to read and think on:)

You got it right. Thank you Pryde.
Yes, the hair of the dog has bitten many. Unfortunately, these bites never seem to heal. They just beg to b fed again.
