Moonlight Fell

Moonlight Fell

Moonlight fell
           and softly
it landed on me
like a bird

In stillness
I remained
with no desire
for it to fly away

I only admired
its plume
filling the yard
throwing shadows from
trees

Incrementally
it shifted away

Had other places to be

and I would never begrudge
the pleasure of others

Thanks very much Stella. :)
Moonbathing in the late and early hours is quite enjoyable; stargazing and watching Venus burn like a cosmic candle in the west. But the moon is often gold and as R. Frost observed. "Nothing Gold Can Stay". Such a moody, gentle and light poem, like moonlight. I enjoyed the read. F.

I appreciate your comment, Fabian. Thanks.
Thanks for the moon, Tim. I needed this, as it has been smoky at night and the moon is hard to see. I love how the moon and its light throw shadows, makes everything look magical.

Thanks so much for the comment, Curt.
Sharing is caring after all!
This is very reminiscent of my usual bedtime mantra as a kid of watching the moon from my bedroom window. I don't remember making such a rule, but this was a silent past time and whatever it was that I was trying to achieve wouldn't work if I spoke.
Personally, growing up in a very noisy house of seven it was probably my inner mantra, before I knew what a mantra was that involved saying "make them all mute" over and over again! 😃

haha, Thanks very much for the comment, Lorry. :)
Sharing makes us feel so much better than hoarding for ourselves...to see the joy of others when we pay it forward...the best feeling.
