The Flower
A Poem by
Relic
Just felt like posting something.
I often stroll through the park
one day
I spotted
a flower
peeking up
from the soil
for a couple of
weeks I watched
it grow
until one day
it bloomed
bright and yellow
in the warm sun
mentally, I said
hello to it
each time I passed it,
as though it were
a new friend
then one day
I saw a happy
young woman
holding it
close to her face
her boyfriend with her
must have plucked it
from the ground
and given
it to her
I was sad
to see it go
but for its
short life
I was happy it
made two people
happy
the woman
and me
I think of it
often
each time I
pass that spot
I still stroll
through the park
yesterday
i spotted a new
flower
sprouting from
the soil
I'll bet its yellow

Jonquils are usually the flower of spring...so nice you could enjoy the love of two people with your favorite yellow flower of spring...and actually, it is three people including you! and then you saw it again...it must be the flower of joy, peace and the calm of the moment!!!
NICE!
Warmly, B

A pleasant read.
It captivates the reader with its relaxing impact.
Flowers are beautiful and vibrant, without them life wouldn’t be the same.
A joyful piece. Well written.

Thanks very much, Rosie.
A quiet and tender piece. You capture how a small thing can open the heart, then return in its own time. The ending leaves a gentle light behind.
