Time should be treasured

When I was six

I looked forward 

to seven.

At seven I wanted

to be eight.

At eight

to be nine.

And on it went

the years past 

so quickly

Can I start again, please? 

I promise to enjoy 

every age

every moment

can I go around again, please? 

If I'd known at six

how precious time would be

I would have treasured 

every single moment

and not looked past it

to the next.
