The most important rule

Call me irrational.
Call me demanding.
But I only hold one rule,
And to you I am handing.

I'm the only one you can touch,
And you're the only one who touches me.
Affection is only truly shown,
Through a demonstration of jealousy.

The presence of this emotion,
Is evidence that you care.
You can't call me unreasonable,
Just because I don't like to share.

Even standing too close,
Is enough to make me possessive.
My attentions are focussed,
Even bordering on obsessive.

Contact only takes place,
Between the members of the pair.
You can call me many things,
But certainly not unfair.
