a few short songs

a few short songs

A Poem by Matt Chevalier

Catch me and my frozen arms
Who've fallen into this embrace
Neither of us understand

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I invented my own kind of loneliness
It tends to lie in wait

----------------------------------------------------------------

There's eternal war
Between the makers of paper and swords

-----------------------------------------------------

understand I understand what you want to hear.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

We are part invisible

--------------------------------------------------------------------

No matter what  (who, when, where, why, how)
There is never an ending
Ever.

---------------------------------------------------

Reaching and waiting to find another side
Though very idea of one is dead,
But the few can pretend they're not.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And so like teardrops
We feed the massmachine

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finding gods in smoke
Afraid they were ones we made up

--------------------------------------------------------------------
