Cross My Heart

Hey guys. :) This being my first story I've actually stuck to, I would only like positive criticism, please and thank you. I know that many people are getting/ have gotten annoyed with the whole 'Vampire' genre, but I have decided to put all of my knowledge of Vampires (from movies, books, ect) and create a new 'species' and a whole different take on the supernatural beings.
I chose writing in the present tense because I haven't read very many books that aren't past tense.
