My Annoying SisterA Story by JD-ChAoS
This story started three years ago. It was before my tennis competition. My six-year-old-sister, Kate, had made my life miserable by annoying me during my tennis lesson in the evening. I tried to ignore her. She was standing beside the tennis court, trying to throw pebbles at me. I can’t stand it anymore and I walked towards her furiously and slapped her hard on her small face.
“Go back home!”I shouted at her. She sobbed and ran off crying loudly. I walked back on to the court, took in a deep breath and continued my lesson as there was not much time left. Kate had annoyed me since three years ago. Her annoying attitude ...I just can’t stand it .I have no idea why she acted like that. I decided to tell my father not to bring her with him to the competition as I thought it would be better for my performance on that day. I thanked my coach when he ended the lesson on that day and walked back home at exactly 7 o’clock. I took dinner, went into my room and took a good look at the trophies that I had won in previous tennis competitions. I realized there were some scratches on the trophies. “Kate had been playing with it again.”I thought. She is the only person in the house who dared to touch my precious trophies .However I finally decided to forget it and made myself comfortable on my bed. I had almost dozed off when Kate came into my room, hitting her toys together and shouting “Wake up, kittie!” I scolded her and she went out quietly for the rest of the night. It was the competition day. I had defeated most of the competitors easily as their skills were not good enough to beat me. Then, I felt like someone touched my shoulder before I begin my final round. I turned back and was surprised to see my father. He looked very sad. “I’m sorry but we need to go now. Kate is in the hospital.” he said. I packed all my things and told the judge that I needed to go because of an emergency. I knew I will be disqualified for leaving in the middle of the game but I have no choice. My father and I rushed off to the car park and we get into car quickly. During the journey to hospital, I was informed that Kate had been involved in an accident. She had rode her bike alone on the road without my mother realizing it and a car had come and hit her. Then, I was also told that she is trying to ride the bike to my competition. Then it hit me! My sister was trying to be close with me all the time but I had ignored her every time since the day I won my first trophy. She was trying to get my attention by distracting me from what I was doing. I loved the trophies more than her. But that day, I knew everything. She loved me very much. I opened the door and ran towards the main gate of the hospital without even bothering to close the car’s door. I ran with a will. A will to apologize to my sister. A will to turn into a new person who loves his sister more than others. Since then, I regret what I had done and realize that true love cannot be replaced. © 2014 JD-ChAoS |
