Drifting away

Drifting away

A Poem by MitchNephets
"

This is about a comatose individual who awakens from their seeming everlasting sleep.

"

Drifting away

When time marches resolutely onwards

At a constant pace, second by second

Nothing can make it go backwards

The call of death always beckoned

You never really see it coming

But eventually everyone gets old

You do not see the signs of ageing

Only realizing when you go ice-cold

Lying there, slowly drifting away

Stumbling down the tunnel to light

Suddenly something is leading you astray

We know you will not give up without a fight

And then you come flooding back

Your long life lovingly rekindled

For all the qualities that you lack

Our love makes it equalled

About
I'm a young man from the south of England and Mitch Nephets is not my real name. I like writing, I find it a way of letting out my negative feelings and sometimes my positive feelings. I don't really .. more..
