What Does A Memory Sound Like?A Poem by Kimberly MillerWhat Does A Memory Sound Like? What does a memory sound like Does it sound like the tinkle of a bell Or the whispers of the wind through the trees Does it sound like the mystery in a cats meow Does it bring thoughts of long ago To our hearts and mind alike Or does it just dredge up Those deep secrets we all hide Does a memory sound like a baby's first cry Or the twinkling tone in your mate's eye Does it sound like a love's heartbeat Or the whisp of a fluttering page Does it bounce off walls and floors Till it finds the person it looks for Does it strike the person like a gunshot Or touch them with a tender nap Do memories sound like a sweet sing-song voice Or maybe the creak in the floor Does it vibrate like an instrument Or dance like leaves on a fall day Perhaps we may never know What a memory sounds like But I can tell you one thing That there is always mystery behind the sound of a memory. © 2015 Kimberly MillerFeatured Review
