Letter

Written to the woman I am in love with.

  I write to you this letter of confession
for you see, I thought of you often
and was advised to heed a lesson
I learned from moons past

  I wish you the best and hope for your safety
for you see, you are dear to me and my heart
for instilling back in me the faith in my creativity
and coercing me to re-wield my pen

  You've grown silent over the passing hours
and it lay like a thickening fog
and I'm left wondering how things had soured
and if it can all be undone

  Just know you are always with me
in my thoughts, my hopes, my wishes
that your future be as bright as your eyes
and a glimmer upon your lips everpresent

   Of happiness.
