Safety

Safety

A Poem by Corinna Bridgebury

You tell me

This is safe.

Safe?

Seems like such a small word

To describe this feeling

This opening up

Being me

A painful ecstasy

Heat beating

Trusting you above all.

This has gone

Far beyond reason

Into blindness.

And yet, yes

This is safety.

It just seems so big

Perhaps because I cannot

Remember being this safe

Ever before.
