Beyond All Doubt

I was in a state of complete withdrawal,
My head and heart in a constant brawl.
So tired of trying all the dating crap,
Was getting sick of every dating app.
Then she pops up and catches my eye,
She was someone I could not pass by.
When matched I thought there was no way,
She’s just a fake looking for a quick payday.
Then started to chat and I saw something real,
Saw someone who understood how to feel.
At that moment I enjoyed talking to you,
While in my head trying to find out what to do.
In a culture of hookups and one night stands,
Was this someone who actually understands.
Someone like me who wants more than lust,
Someone who I can put into all of my trust.
Let my fingers say the words, then hit send,
No idea if this is where that story will end.
Then a short time later I heard your voice,
I knew for sure I had made the right choice.
In this culture I know it is hard to trust guys,
Too many want sex and tell nothing but lies.
Do whatever I have in order to pass the test,
In order to prove that I'm nothing like the rest.
Then I picked you up and took you out,
And it completely eliminated all my doubt.
Both of us broken from stains of our past,
And not expecting to like you so much so fast.
Now looking forward to our next night out,
Wanting to take next step without a doubt.
