I want to stay awake all night

And never turn on the light.

I want to sit here all alone

And ignore the ring of the phone

My brain says to move along

But my heart says my brain is wrong

I want to cry with the rain

But what would I gain?

A painkiller that just won’t start

A dagger tearing through my heart

The words that just won’t flow

Your face in my head that just won’t go
