i liked it very much, mark! but solid translucent seem to be contradictary, maybe i just didn't understand what you meant. i am really inexperienced in giving reviews. i like the line, ,,reflected in the prisms of your words..that was just so descriptive!! you are very talented!

Good use of words and thoughts. Evoking memories can create pain and happiness. I like your strong description.
"Stale butterflies and old grass smells
The scent of an insect torn.
The birds crying foul."
I like the ending to the outstanding poem.

I love the sharp tactile quality of the images evoked - stale butterflies, old grass smells - that are in a sense both translucent and solid. The speaker has been educated by the person he addresses and therefore communication between them is possible. What is interesting is the suggestion that the evocation of memory is a religious or mystical experience. If science cannot explain the process, I suppose it is.
An exciting thought that one may transform another simply by allowing the knowing. Your poem IS many faceted and, I too, love the "stale butterflies...."
This poem allows one to ponder and feel. A real beauty...
Hi Mark 'the opening line, 'Reflected in the prisms of your words' is a classically good opening to engage a reader. The third stanza is electric and the powerful ending makes this a really good poem!
