Lost

Lost

A Poem by Mark
"

so many ways...

"
I've been lost where candles
splash movements on the trees.
Old gnarled arms and fingers
give me their scratch affection.

I've been lost on black ribbons
with painted lines white and yellow.
Green white signs laughing
giving me misdirection.

I want to be lost where
your smiles move and
chase laughter in the night
taking away my frustration.

and I have the same message as my fellow reviewers, excellent, especially the last stanza

Such a yearning poem painted in a metaphor of travelling at night. Lovely.

Love the depiction of driving in the night as a metaphor for travelling alone in the empty dark Mark.

Such emotion here...melancholy as it is, there is also a soft and sublime feel to the words. "I want to be lost where/your smiles move..."--this piece alone gives me a bit of the shivers, because it is so very touching. We want so desperately to be "found"; we all want this. I like the imagery...the forest, the roads, and the misdirecting signs. Also a very nice flow to the piece. Well done.

Thank you Sarah. Being lost can turn into an occupation. :)

I understand that sentiment...
I hear the trucker in you coming through in those beginning stanzas, ha...I want to be lost in that way too, sounds like a plan to me, where's the road map to this place? Nice one Mark!
