Soul SurgeryA Poem by Mark
There are so many pieces
I'd like to remove. The ones that ache like broken glass embedded so long ago, now worn at the edges; but still able to make me bleed. There are parts I would remove surgically, precisely and tossing them in the salty water I'd watch to see what ate them. Would I smile then? See a bright world after my clouds are gone? I would probably ignore the beauty, the pain gone, the ecstasy unbalanced, I would likely fall away. Those pieces, that cut and tear somehow come together; To help make me a whole. © 2016 MarkAuthor's Note
