A Child in Old Mens clothes

A Child in Old Mens clothes

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

His disabilities are no disability

"

There he goes
a child in old mens clothes
always laughing
always whistling
smiles shared with all he ever meets

There he goes
a child in old mens clothes
always happy
always friendly
wrapped in self contained innocence

There he goes
a child in old mens clothes
always singing
always dancing
he makes my glad to be his friend

There he goes
a child in old mens clothes
always alive
always living
making the most of every day

There he goes
a child in old mens clothes
did you see him
did you greet him
nod and smile, simply say hello

let his inner child find yours
as his contagious laughter

....makes your day.

This is for Malcolm a disabled man I know in his 50's but still seeing the world through the eyes of a child, just the next time you meet a man/woman like Malcolm stop and say hello and feel their love flow over you, this is not Pride this is being proud to call them friend for they truly understand the word a word owned by The Children.

What a wonderful poem to begin my hurried day. This is an outstanding writing honoring Malcolm. He deserves as we all do, respect. And so often we forget to acknowledge persons with a disability as we pass by them on the street, in a store, out shopping, we speak and say, "hello" to the norm of society though for most part. Thanks for reminding me to stop and say "good morning, goodnight, hello, how ya doing' to those would only want good for us. They see us through only positive eyes. They greet us with an unconditional love of the human race. Excellent poem. You inked it perfectly! Thanks!!
