Winter Wounded landA Poem by InyourshadowTheir love was as fleeting as the seasons
Autumn - Time as come for me to die
My gold bought me no joy As I in forests softly lie Awaiting the kiss of one less coy Winter - There she lies awaiting death That my touch surely brought See there her final plaintif breath In my world of ice so caught Autumn - If but for one moment I warmed your heart of ice I have earned us both atonement And have loved you in a trice Winter - Icicles blind my eyes Let me not see her end As this first snow angel dies And I now make amends Narrator- The flames of Autumn all but dead And Winter howls in pain For she is laid to rest in bed Lost to his sight again Winter - I would fall upon this sword Until all sorrows bled For I would give you this my word As virgin White runs red Come once more the bitter cold Let my emotions freeze Until such time as I can hold Her close once more with ease © 2011 InyourshadowAuthor's Note
