Unrequitted love

Why when thou speaks am I struck dumb,
as my words like skittish sparrows fly.
Leaving me an inmate of loves asylum,
Tongue bound as once more I die.

Why when thy hand touches my cheek,
am I so afraid to breath too deep.
Inhaling thy scent that leaves me thus weak,
on loves cliff afraid to leap.

Why when you promise with your eyes,
the needs a heart could so desire.
So tempt me not if this be nought but lies,
as within your lips such fire.

Ache for me as deep as my ache for thee,
or leave me unbroken and alone yet still free.

Whoa. This one's really good. You described the feeling so well! Whenever a special someone is involved, all the little things he/she does heightens. It's a magical feeling but at the same, it's soul crushing. I particularly loved the last two lines. All of the hurt and love were compressed into those few words. Great job! :) Oh, and the title really caught my attention. :))
