A lil' something that sounded right

last night I was dreaming
a monster eyes of blue
his mouth open as if screaming

the image I was keeping
never had he moved

the night was breathing
this monster stood in the dew

i felt a presence as I was seeing
the monster of ill-omen becomes true

i'd been thinking
of the monster I had hope I knew

i went for the man swinging
a hatchet I must have drew
