Dark Days DefeatedA Poem by The Iron HorsemanA message of hope in a darkening world.
Spite, spleen and malice. Vitriol, venom and violence. Acid in a chalice. Destruction, death and decadence.
These things swirl around us, Today and every day. Malignity surrounds us, It's hard to keep at bay.
When life has you by the throat, Your world has turned bitter and dark, A friend may come with a lifeboat, Or take you for a walk in the park.
Small kindnesses give life meaning, Give strength to continue the fight. When the wolf dawn is leaning, It heralds the advent of light.
So keep your spirit strong, Let your heart be true, Fight against the wrong, It will all work out for you.
Never let them see you weep, Never bend the knee, Never sell yourself too cheap, Never take less than victory. © 2017 The Iron Horseman
