Movie StarA Poem by The Iron HorsemanA look at the superficial nature of stardom.
Glossy, glittering glamour, Strolls across the stage, Seeking spotlit sexiness, Defying advancing age.
A career built on beauty, Selling sex so slyly, Makes image all important, Reality not valued highly.
Age is glamour's nemesis, Plastic surgery its solution, The pain must be endured, To avoid financial destitution.
As age takes its toll, And glamour starts to fade, The limelight moves to another, The piper must be paid.
As Beauty sits in her darkened room, Contemplating the passage of her life, She wonders was it worth it, Becoming ambition's celluloid wife. © 2017 The Iron Horseman
