The Breaking Point

The Breaking Point

A Poem by Rebecca Isherwood
"

High School Era- creative writing class.

"

Lost, wandering
Mild bewilderment
Roaming ceaselessly
Not able to vent
Keeping it all
Locked up inside
Surrounded by people
But still managing to hide
The anger builds
It won’t go away
This calm personality
Has gone astray
All of the feelings
Betrayal, deceit
Frustrations add up
This man they’ve beat
Like a caffeinated drink
On the brink of explosion
His thoughts will manifest
His actions expose them
The hatred surges
Throughout his body
Kicking him in motion
He broke down, or had he?
He truly must have
His anger broke free
It now expressed itself
In the form of a killing spree
He charged a crowd
Brought people to the ground
Thrust himself deeper
And lashed all around
His hands found a gun
How can this be?
This poor victim
Will soon cause tragedy.
