A JourneyA Poem by JohnnyBI like to try writing lyrics every now and then. I'm not a musician, so if you are let's talk.
The mountain I've been climbing has been tall,
I inch along the cliffs so I don't fall, I've slipped along the way, But made it through okay, Focused on the peak, I heed its call. The desert I've been crossing is hot and dry, The sun is beating down from the sky, I've been aching to the bone, Trying to face the heat alone, Mirages of my love make me want to cry. The sea I've been crossing is rough and deep, The waves and thunder steal away my sleep, The rain is pouring down my face, I really need a warm embrace, I sail on, though hope is hard to keep. But now I'm home I see you standing with arms open wide, So now I run, My excitement, I don't even try to hide, I squeeze you tightly when I reach you The words I've written I try to teach you, It's time to take flight Let's fly away together, Just soar high and live forever To share a world of love wild and free. ___________________________J R Brock © 2009 john-michael productions, ltd. lyrics by J R Brock © 2010 JohnnyB |
