Can OpenerA Poem by J Todd Underhill09/17/2025I am broken but usable, Father in heaven, move me tonight. My soul is so fallible. Please guide me as I write. My eyes scarred and burned, Images that cannot be unseen. Atrocities of which can’t be unlearned The devil’s world can be so mean. I pray all your children rise, And stand against this horrible evil. Bind up the adversary’s eyes, And bring unto you, your sacred people. Keep me in mind for blessings, Though I do the best that I can. An imperfect poet still in testing. Merely breaking the mold of a toxic clan. I know that I have agency, You made each person free to choose. Every soul is inherently free, May everyone be exposed to the good news. Please note as I have said before, This world is destined to become depraved. I am like the can opener at the back of the drawer, Broken but usable and by your son saved.
